What can conference organisers do to ensure good photography?
We live in a visual age, when billions of photos are uploaded to the web every day. Images are vital selling tools and ensuring you have bold, slick photos will help your conference stand out and look its best. So here are a few little tips to make their job a bit easier and ensure you get some awesome imagery.
“Be Right On” Photos from my time in Brighton.
From 2005 until 2013, the funky seaside town of Brighton was my home. It’s a pretty full-on, eccentric place, with a lot going on, and I lived right in the thick of it, initially next to the crumbling West Pier, then on the edge of hedonistic Kemptown.
I took so many pictures of Brighton life in my 8 years there and I have compiled them into the personal project “Be Right On”. Below is a selection of some images that didn’t make the cut, but I thought would serve as some fun bonus content, enjoy!

My Favourite London Evening Event Locations, Part 1.
London has an amazing amount of world class events venues, here are a few of my favourites, in no particular order
Festival Photography: Lovejam Campout
I recently got back from my favourite festival; Lovejam Campout. It’s alcohol-free, tiny and conscious. There were some great musicians playing, including the iconic jungle legend Congo Natty, but as well as the music, the focus of the festival was on workshops and community spaces. I made many magical memories, singing, dancing, drumming around the fire, it really was an incredibly powerful experience.
Crafting Light: The Quiet Art of Interiors Photography
When photographers ask me about working with interiors, they're often worried about … well, the interiors themselves. Does the room feel dull? Is the light uninspiring? What if the view out the window is less than sensational? Here’s how I approach these challenges—and how I turn them into opportunities.
Corporate Headshots
I have photographed thousands of corporate headshots over the years and I pride myself in creating a safe, friendly atmosphere for people to feel comfortable whilst being photographed.
I can bring a mobile studio to your office, using either plain backgrounds or the natural surroundings of your working environment.
Case Study: Shooting The Google Cloud Summit
A brass band, cricket practice, a formula one car, football practice, AI VJ’s, a racecar simulator, a gif of you making lego, robot football, what does these seemingly random things have in common? They all featured at the recent Google Cloud Conference at Tobacco Dock in London. And I was lucky enough to photograph it
Cheers! The best of my drinks photography.
I have photographed lot’s of drinks over the years, in studio and on location in restaurants, hotels and bars, and it’s always a fun and playful experience.
A Fascinating Venue: Masons Hall
I’ve recently shot a couple of jobs in Mason’s Hall near Covent Garden and I’m loving this space. It’s the HQ for English Freemasonry and the building is full of grandeur and symbolism. Obviously freemasonry has a mysterious history, full of intrigue and conspiracy, but I was just looking at the space, and it’s great!
A piece of cake: Some examples of my food photography.
Being a food photographer can be a lot of fun, experimenting with lighting, styling and composition, and even more fun when I get to try the food!
Shooting in Stanglwirt Spa Resort and Hotel, Austria.
Stanglwirt is a huge site, with lots of world class sports and leisure facilities, all against the most amazing backdrop of the Tirol mountains. Stanglwirt has one of the most amazing spas in the world, with several swimming pools inside and out, saunas, steam rooms, plunge pools, jacuzzis, with massages and treatments also available.
Case Study: Aurora Dental Practice
Here are some highlights from a recent photoshoot I did for Aurora Dental Practice
I also shoot product photography!!!
I have photographed all sorts in the studio, including children’s toys, electricals, food and drink, cosmetics, furniture and more, all the while honing my skills in styling, lighting, composition and editing for product photography. Here’s an overview of my product portfolio.
How I photograph groups
There are lots of factors to consider in order to get a great group photo, here I go over some basic themes, including location, lighting, posing and atmosphere.
